Changing careers isn’t an easy thing to do. Especially when most employers require a certain amount of experience or training, before they will even consider you for a role. Trying to gain experience or get the required training can be extremely challenging when you’re trying to hold down a job and keep up with other life commitments.
That is why here at Termico we are making it easier for you to join our team and make the move over to Pest Control. We will provide you with all the necessary training and support to gain a Certificate III in Pest Management, while being paid a full-time wage!
Pest Control may not be something you have ever considered before and that’s why we want to tell you a bit about what to expect working as a technician and about working for Termico Pest Management.
One good thing about being a Pest Management Technician is we operate between 8am-5pm. So no early starts or late nights!
On occasion, some technicians maybe required to start at 7am or have a slightly later finish time when carrying out treatments for some clients, For example schools, commercial properties etc. However, our scheduling team works hard to make sure you’re only rostered on for 9 hours. Therefore, if you start early, you get an early finish or if you’re finishing later, you will start later.
Also, technicians are only required to work 1 in 3 Saturday’s, so your weekends are free for you to do the things you love and to spend time with family and friends!
That said overtime is normally available so if you want to earn more then the option is there!
All work is booked in by our wonderful Customer Service Team. Where possible they will keep you close to home. However, if there is an occasion you need to travel more than 30 minutes to your first job your travel time after the first 30 minutes is paid for by Termico. Yes, that’s right you get paid to travel to work and the same goes for coming home!
In addition to that, your fuel is paid for and you will be provided with a Termico vehicle. This vehicle is fully maintained, so you do not need to worry about any servicing and maintenance costs.
Working in Pest Control you are required to work with various chemical products. As part of your Certificate III coursework and ongoing product specific training, you will be educated on how to work with these products in a safe manner. Termico will provide all the personal protection equipment (PPE), that you will require for the job. In addition, our team has worked hard to develop process and procedures to ensure the safe handling of these products. Termico has invested in equipment that will reduce the amount of physical contact you will have with them. Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our staff is our number one priority!
While the Customer Service Team organises the jobs to attend each day, it’s a pretty independent role; you stay in touch with the scheduling staff, but you’re out on your own most of the time.
Each day you will attend the jobs allocated and carry out treatments and / or inspections. After each job, you will submit a report using online forms located on an iPad App that is provided to you. These reports are submitted back to the office staff who will complete the final stages of the report leaving you free to move onto the next job.
Working as a Pest Management Technician, you get to meet people from all walks of life. We have a fantastic customer base. Many of our customers have been with us a number of years, so as time goes on you will get to know them and start to see some familiar faces while out on the road!

We have an incredible team, with almost 100 employees, of which 21 have worked over 10 years for us and a number more of our staff are coming up to their 10 year anniversary in the next few years. Each year we take the ‘10 year plus club’ out as a thank you for continued loyalty and to celebrate those that have reached their 10 year anniversary with Termico. We are very proud to have such a strong and loyal core to our team, which ensures that we can deliver consistent quality products and services to all our Termico customers.

“Meeting people from different walks of life, there is always something to learn, traveling to all kinds of places in WA, the backing that I have received from management and owners and personnel within Termico has been above everything I have ever come across in my working life in Australia” – Dario
“I joined Termico about 16 years ago, coming from a customer service focused industry.
It’s been pleasing to be part of an ethic at Termico that is also strongly focused on customer service and where corporate integrity is valued.
The staff culture also is very friendly and supportive, I’ve been in the work force for over 40 years in various roles with different employers and the team morale at Termico is as good as any that I have ever worked in.
I have progressed from the role I started in, but I enjoyed my years on the road as a Pest Management Technician. While the company organises the jobs to attend each day, it’s a pretty autonomous role; you stay in touch with the scheduling staff but you’re out on your own most of the time and not being micromanaged. Going from job to job, meeting different people, not being stuck at a desk but not being outside all the time either” – Craige
“I couldn’t speak more highly of company. The management team are fantastic. Simon and Rich as directors are so approachable and have been amazing over the years.
The girls in the office are friendly and helpful. Everyone just works as one big team, and you always feel supported and heard.
I used to work self-employed but it’s great knowing that I get annual leave, sick leave, I’m provided with my van which rego’s, servicing, general maintenance and fuel is all paid for. The job itself takes me to some lovely places and I love seeing different homes and gardens which gives me great ideas for my own home renos!’ - Derrick
